Do you qualify?

  • Your passenger car or small van (up to 3.5 tonnes) will have been first registered in the United Kingdom on or before 31 August 1999
  • It must be registered with the DVLA to the registered keeper who is making the application. SORN vehicles are excluded from the Mazda scrappage scheme
  • It must have a current MOT test certificate and a valid tax disk
  • The registered keeper must have a UK address
  • The registered keeper must have owned the vehicle continuously for 12 calendar months preceding the order date of a new vehicle

 
If your car qualifies, you should it  along with your V5 vehicle log book, valid MOT certificate, valid tax disk, insurance documents and personal identification.

* The Government scrappage payment applies to cars or LCVs not exceeding 3.5 tonnes, first registered on or before 31 August 1999 only when traded in against new cars or LCVs. The new vehicle must be ordered between 1 July 2009 and 30 September 2009, and registered within 4 months of the order date. Scrapped vehicles must have been registered to the purchaser for at least 12 months preceding the purchase of the vehicle, be taxed and insured and come with a valid MOT certificate. The registered keeper must have a UK address and the trade-in vehicle must be clear of finance
